Why Go Green?
America is changing - one light bulb at a time. Individuals, businesses and
communities more often ask themselves what they can do to preserve our
environment. They want to make smart decisions - choices that save energy,
money, and are safer for the environment and their personal health.
Toxic chemicals aren't just a threat in the outdoor environment. Over the past
decade, a growing number of scientific studies have warned of health threats
from toxins in the home and workplace.
Household cleaning products, paints and bleaches, long have been criticized
for containing organic chemicals that can cause cancer. Now they are joined
by natural gas stoves, home computers, carpets, wood paneling, mattresses,
cosmetics, plastic car seats, candles and air fresheners, and leaky roofs-all
sources of harmful compounds. '
Pollutants emitted indoors are about 1,000 times more likely to be inhaled
than outdoor emissions. The same health-conscious homeowner who would
never dream of allowing cigarette smoke inside the house might be burning
aromatherapy candles with the idea that they promote a healthy, relaxing
atmosphere. But burning candles could actually have the opposite effect:
Scientific testing has shown that candles can emit pollutants such as acetone,
benzene, lead, soot and particulate matter.
What Can You Do?
First, buy smart and save. When you need to purchase new items for yourself or as gifts, ask yourself if the
item is recyclable or reusable.
Second, clean up your indoor air. Learn about where that pollution comes from and how to treat it, including
mold, natural gas, pesticides that you can track into the house, and the dangers of breathing in the emission of
burning candles.
Third, thoroughly investigate any new "green ideas." When you find something that will help you personally or
the environment, be willing to “invest” in the future—yours and ours!
Finally, you might think about what you’re going to do with all the money that you save when you go green.

How We Can Help
The technology that allows us to bring you Crystal Scentsations was developed in early 2001 after a new
process was perfected that allowed a special natural crystal to be utilized in place of candles which were not
allowed in the many classrooms where the creator was a substitute teacher. Soon this product line became
increasingly popular and, to meet the ever growing demand, it became necessary to dedicate full-time efforts to
this wonderful product. It is from this beginning that “the candle alternative” was born.
Starting from a small home office in the South, the first crystals were supplied to local shops, schools, and
community charity organizations. The company relocated to the Northwest in 2004 where it is currently located.
It is also here that the company began operating under the trade name Crystal Scentsations.
We believe stongly in, as the famous saying goes, “be the change you want to see.” As such, we have
developed a safer, clearner, and certainly “greener” alternative to candles which can be dangerous and
environmentally damaging, while still providing a beautiful aroma at home, at work, in the car, hospitals and
nursing homes, or in any place where candles used to be.
